Objective

In order to be sustainable, social service organizations need to find and diversify the funding source. The courses help social work practitioners to identify different ways of fundraising to enhance their organisations’ fundraising capability. It is designed for social work practitioners who would like to equip and advance their practical skills on fundraising.

Target Participants

  • The full programme is designed for NGO staffs working in fundraising, communications, and donor relations at managerial or supervisory level.
  • Individual sessions are suitable for NGO staffs who are interested in the topic.

Mr Timothy Ma 馬錦華先生
Executive Director, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association

Under Mr Ma’s leadership, the organization is now commented as the most successfully self-finance social enterprise serving more than 75,000 service users in Hong Kong. With his successful fundraising experience, he is a trainer on Fundraising and SQS and has conducted lots of staff training for the NGOs on topics like Team Building, Creativity and Innovation, Leading Efficient Meeting, Resource Development, Efficient and Effective Supervision Funding Proposal. He is serving as VP at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Hong Kong Chapter).

Ms So has been working with the Hong Kong Red Cross for 21 years involving in the aspects of disaster management, governance management, corporate communications, and resource development. She currently oversees the departments of International & Relief Service and Communications & Resource Development.

Ms Winnie Wong 王詩韻女士

Ms Winnie Wong has 16 years of experience in the field of marketing, project development and event management in non-profit organization, including Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Po Leung Kuk. She is experienced in the development and marketing strategies in promotion and coordination of public exhibitions and fundraising campaigns. She currently services at Hong Kong Red Cross, taking charge of the department to develop fundraising strategies, including driving of fundraising campaigns, enhancement of donor loyalty and relationship building, and to maintain a high standard of accountability to donors.

Ms Kathy Wong 王見好女士
Executive Director, Playright Children’s Play Association

Ms Kathy Wong has been Executive Director of Playright Children's Play Association since 1996. She strongly advocates children’s right to play, affirming the importance of play for child development, closely-knit families and a well-rounded community. Under her leadership, Playright has mobilized resources to develop many new projects, all working to provide better play opportunity and environment for children. These include commercial partnership, income generation, grant application, and public fund-raising etc. Kathy is a registered social worker. She holds a Master Degree in Social Work from Washington University, St. Louis.

Ms Heidi Wong 黃凱迪女士
Principal Anchor, now Business News Channel

Ms Heidi Wong has joined now Business News Channel as Principal Anchor since February 2006. She is responsible for hosting various programs including “Trading Hours”, “Midday Market Wrap” and “Global Financial Express.” Heidi began her career as an anchor for Cable News for six years before joining now BNC. At Cable News, she contributed to hosting various programs and live issues, including the release of Policy Address and National People’s Congress assembly. Heidi graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2000, majoring in Journalism and Communication.

Mr Jonathan Yip 葉冠霖先生
Radio presenter cum producer

Mr Jonathan Yip has more than 10 years of experience in the media industry. He began his career as a television journalist and is currently a presenter cum producer in a leading local radio station. Working in concert with NGOs, he is actively involved in community projects including fundraising campaigns, book donations and humanity awards. He also teaches Social Sciences in a local university. Jonathan holds a Master of International Studies degree from the Goldsmiths, University of London, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr Leung Kee Cheong 梁紀昌先生
Principal, Fresh Fish Traders’ School

Mr Leung Kee Cheong, a former Assistant Inspector and School Development Officer of the Education Bureau, has been the Principal of Fresh Fish Traders’ School since 2002. He successfully led the school twice to fight for school survival against Government‘s closing school policy within 3 years. The campaigns made school well known to public as school who takes all round and good care to the lower class and underprivileged children. The mass media and the public are always concerned with and interested in school development. The school has undertaken a lot of plans to release the underprivileged children from poverty and eventually has received over 9 million dollars in aggregate donation for 9 years.

Ms. Florence Tsang 曾淑英女士
Head, Resource Development, S.K.H. St. Christopher’s Home

Ms Florence Tsang holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Monash University, Australia. She has more than 13 years of experience in brand building, fundraising, corporate partnership and donor cultivation in non-profit making organizations, including Haven of Hope Christian Service and World Vision Hong Kong. Florence currently serves at S.K.H. St. Christopher’s Home and is responsible for overseeing resource development, network building, media relations and event management of the agency.

Ms Candy Mau 繆凱甄女士

Ms Candy Mau started her first career with Canon immediately after completion of her Double Major Degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2000. During the past 8 years, Candy plays her main role to develop and operate the Corporate Communications Department in order to maintain a healthy Canon brand image according to the company philosophy. Candy has promoted as Manager in 2009 responsible to pilot her team to plan and conduct corporate events and sponsorships, network building, partnering NGOs to take part in various CSR activities and promoting PR / media engagements.

Mr Rainer Sip 薛嘉龍先生
Operations Director, Baby-Kingdom.com Limited

Mr Sip is a 15 year veteran of internet portal business and e-commerce solutions. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Seeing the internet bubble emerge, swell and finally burst in Y2K, Rainer decided to run his own business. Seeking no funding externally, Baby-Kingdom.com achieved breakeven in 2 years and it’s now one of the top female and family oriented site in the Greater China Region.

Ms Christine Kwan 關韵唐女士

Ms Christine Kwan plays an active role in enhancing charity accountability and transparency, facilitates effective partnership between funders with NGOs and provides support to foundations and private donors in their giving strategies. Christine has over 10 years of NGO fundraising experience and is currently a member of The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Hong Kong Chapter.

Ms Carrie Tan 陳晶晶女士
Manager (Community Relations), Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

Ms Tan is an experienced communications professional with more than 15 years of solid experience in external and internal communications. Her involvement in corporate responsibility dated back to 2000 when she was charged with the responsibility of developing and managing the community investment programs of a leading international wealth management company in Hong Kong. In her current role at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, her major focus is community relations where she worked closely with charities, NGOs and SEs.

Mr Ralph Szeto 司徒廣釗先生
Business Development Director, CMRS Digital Solutions Limited

Mr Szeto graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University with a Degree in Humanities and Master Degree in Communications. He is one of the founders of CMRS Digital Solutions Limited, which develops and provides various marketing solutions on social media and digital marketing services. Mr Szeto is currently the Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Internet Marketing and Executive of the Interactive and Direct Committee of HK4As. He is also a guest lecturer of several universities and organizations.
