Objectives
Effective Human Resources Management is one of critical success factor in corporate management and governance of NGOs. Its function has been extended to a horizon that every staff members responsible for supervisory/managerial role perform the role of HRM as well. HKCSS Institute has organized this Certificate in HRM to facilitate supervisory and managerial staff equip themselves with the following:
- strengthening the HR knowledge required individuals responsible for HR management in the organization;
- enhancing the skill-set for managing daily HR related issues;
- understanding the complimentary role of supervisors in achieving efficient and effective HR management with the HR department.
Characteristics
- Responding to common HR issues of NGOs in the welfare sector.
- Focusing on HR role to be performed by supervisors.
- HR specialists are invited to be trainers.

- The full programme is designed for NGO staff at managerial or supervisory level

In his thirty-seven-year career as an HR professional, Mr Lai has gained extensive experience and thorough understanding on human resources management strategy, performance, reward management and succession planning. Prior to his current role, he was the Group Human Resources Manager of CLP Holdings, Ltd., the parent company of the China Light & Power Group, managing the Group’s remuneration and benefits policies, as well as its HR information system. |

Mr Lam has been a human resources management practitioner for over 25 years and gained extensive human resources management experience from working in different industries including construction, real estate, telecommunication, trading and finance. Mr Lam has been conducting management related training courses and as voluntary committee member for various NGOs since the early 90’s. As present, he is a member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management. |

Graduated from the University of Nottingham (U.K.), Dr Kwong has worked in various leading media corporations with over 15 years’ successful experience in sales and marketing field. Dr Kwong served as Executive Committee member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (HK branch) and Training Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing. He is now a training consultant specialized in Marketing, Selling, Negotiation and CRM and frequently invited to be trainer by corporations and NGOs. |

Ms Tang has over 25 years of experience conducting training and development programs for clients or her employers either as consultant or in-house training and development manager. The companies she has worked for include Hudson, PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong, JP Morgan Chase, PCCW, Inchcape Pacific, HSBC, the Kowloon-Canton Railway, Hutchison Whampoa, Burston-Marsteller, Lane Crawford, etc. She has conducted training for the hiring managers of an executive search firm. She holds a masters degree in Quality Management and a diploma in Training Management. |

Ms Patricia Lai
Principal Consultant, Commercial Development & Training Institute (CDTI)
Ms Lai has more than 25 years of experience in the training and development field. In her corporate career, she worked for VTC, Exxon, Digital Equipment and Jardine Pacific. As consultant, she has conducted training for CDTI clients, CPA (Australia) HK/China Division, Hospital Authority, ASTEC, China Resources, BP-Amoco, Amway, Lingnan University, etc. She holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Hong Kong, post-graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a post-graduate Diploma in Training Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. |
