To provide the practical skills and knowledge for participants who want to master the importance of internal control and enterprise risk management excellence and to develop and implement such policies and procedures in their organisations. It will focus on relevant topics and the environment in NGO and use SWD’s Lump Sum Grant Manual for illustration.

  3. Setting up and managing an IA or IC function in NGO
  4. IC - general methodology and work approach
  5. The role of IA or IC in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
  6. ERM framework, methodology, and common language to be used
  7. Implementing ERM in practice

Having fruitful experiences in handling financial issues from perspective of service centers and organization, Mr Lam is an experienced instructor in many similar training courses/workshops for social work professionals. With background in both commercial and NGOs, Mr Lam can provide insights to share with participants. He is currently Deputy Director - Finance & General Administration of Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children and has over 25 years of experience in financial management both in commercial and NGO sectors. He currently holds the qualifications of Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant and Certified Practicing Accountant (Australia).
