Introduction

For the purpose of introducing “Why” and “How” of Integrated Talent Management implementing in Nonprofit Organization, the Council and the ExCEL3 project is going to organize a training session for NGOs Executives and HR Managers.

Objective

  • Promoting the strategic value of integrated talent management to nonprofit executives and HR managers
  • Explaining the reasons of implementing integrated talent management in nonprofit organizations
  • Introducing the tools and methods for implementing integrated talent management in nonprofit organizations

Content

  1. Why should integrated talent management be implemented?
    • Mini-lecture on notions of strategy-aligned talent management and its HR architecture
    • Group discussion for participants to discuss the suitable competencies for various types of strategies
  2. How does one put together a sound integrated talent management system?
    • In-class exercises of the methods employed to identify competencies and the “behavioral content”
    • An introduction of method for developing performance metrics or KPIs for performance management

Prof Juan Sanchez

Juan I. Sanchez is Professor of Management and International Business and Knight-Ridder Byron Harless Eminent Chair of Management at Florida International University. He has served as an elected member of the Academy of Management's Human Resource Division Executive Committee. He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association. His research has received awards from the International Personnel Management Association and the National Society for Performance and Instruction. He currently serves in the advisory boards of a Florida-based corporation, HRMC, and a Texas-based corporation, SkillsNet. He is a Public Member of the U.S. State Department’s Board of Examiners of the Foreign Service, and a former advisor of the U.S. Social Security Administration’s Occupational Information Advisory Panel. Prof Sanchez has published numerous book chapters and over 70 articles in refereed journals, currently, he is an associate editor for the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Group and Organization Management, and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment. Prof Sanchez occasionally serves as an expert witness in cases involving human resource management disputes, and he has consulted with multiple organizations in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. He has also consulted with government agencies such as the National Academy of Sciences (three panels), the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Veterans Administration.
