You can join our activities by the following ways,

1.1 Join InnoCarnival 2011
 

As a result of widespread use and robust innovation across the information technology, life can be more independent and interesting. To ensure that seniors can enjoy the fruits of innovation, it’s time to provide senior with an interactive lifeline to the world, empowering them to live move robust, healthful and independent lives. HKCSS will arrange around 10,000 elders to join the InnoCarnival 2011 from Nov 5 to Nov 13. Special highlight includes,

  1. Traditional Chinese Medicine for Modern Life
  2. Technology to improve the home environment and living quality for the elderly
  3. TeleCare System
  4. TeleHealth Solution
  5. Simple Health Test, eg blood pressure, height and weight for elderly
  6. Guided Tour (reservation is needed)

Transportation allowance from ITC will be provided for Elderly service unit to organize elderly group visit.

1.2 Make a Nomination for Age Friendly Hong Kong Appreciation Scheme 2011
 

The first “Age Friendly Hong Kong Appreciation Scheme” was held in 2010 to encourage government departments, public services organisations and companies to implement elderly friendly measures and practices.

Age Friendly Hong Kong Appreciation Scheme 2011 Nomination on territorial-wide and district-wise elderly friendly measures and practices has kicked off. Awardees will receive certificate and be invited to participate a “dress up parade” on Senior Citizen’s Day (SCD) ceremony on 18th November.

1.3 Join March for Age-Friendly Hong Kong
 

Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and co-organised with CADENZA: A Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors, the thematic event, March for Age-Friendly Hong Kong will be organized on 18 Nov (Friday) from 2pm to 5pm at The Piazza of Hong Kong Cultural Centre (TST). Exhibtion on age-friendly measures will be displayed.

The event will bring together the older persons and youth, as well as older volunteers and corporate volunteers from various districts and sectors to forge a community movement to build Age-Friendly Hong Kong.

To promote the concept of Age Friendly City among younger generation, enrich positive attitude toward ageing and d recognize the active, healthy, and independent lives that many older people lead, Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust would also sponsor youth educational series program on Age-Friendly Hong Kong which includes “Youth Age-friendly Hong Kong Ambassador” and “Age-Friendly Hong Kong Short Film Competition” from November 2011 to March 2012. Outstanding senior citizens will go to schools to share the concept of Age-Friendly City and the age-friendly stories in HK.

   
2. Organize activities to show your respect and care
  You can organize different activities to show your respect and care i.e. home visit, Lunch for Elderly, Chines Opera Show, etc.
   
3. Help to promote
  You can help in promotion by hanging banner and poster, introduction in gathering, etc.  We can provide you poster and video for free.
   
4. Senior discount & service
  For business sector, you can think about provide special discount, gifts, free ride for elders. Special service is appreciated to make elder’s life easier.  For example, Banks can tailor the Easy ATM service for elders.  Moreover, most transportation companies have promised to offer free ride for elders in Senior Citizen’s Day.
   
5. Donate gift
  You can sponsor the events by providing corporate gifts.  We will distribute it to elders while home visit or Ageing Well Living Well Mobilization Day.
