Theme of Senior Citizen's Day
Since 2009, the theme of SCD is “Age Friendly City” with focus in eight areas of city living:
- outdoor spaces and buildings,
- transportation,
- housing,
- social participation,
- respect and social inclusion,
- civic participation and employment,
- communication and information; and
- community support and health services.
The idea is to optimize the opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age.
