Introduction

In order to be sustainable, especially in this economic downturn, social service organizations need to find and diversify the funding source. The courses help social work practitioners to identify different ways of fundraising to enhance their organisations’ fundraising capability. It is designed for social work practitioners who would like to equip and advance their practical skills on fundraising. Interested parties may take the whole certificate course or individual courses to suit their organisation’s needs.

Mr Vincent Law 羅健明先生
President, Association of Fundraising Professionals (Hong Kong Chapter)

Mr Law is the first AFP Master Teacher, Train-the-trainer in Asia, holding fundraising qualifications of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) USA and Certificate in Fundraising Management, UK (MInstF(Cert)). He is now a Doctorate of Education candidate (Lifelong Education) with Nottingham University. His area of research is in the continuous education of professional fundraiser. He was previously the Development Director of World Society for the Protection of Animals, Asia.

Ms Kwan has over 10 years of NGO fundraising experience in HK. Her knowledge in direct marketing campaigns, special events, donor cultivation and corporate partnership has helped to raise significant donations and build sustainable resources. Ms Kwan is currently the Project Manager of Resources Development and Fundraising at The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Hong Kong Chapter.

Ms So has worked in the frontline and management level on disaster relief and reconstruction operations, including the floods and earthquake in China, and the South Asia Tsunami. She has also represented the International Red Cross to conduct need assessment in flood affected areas in Bangladesh and the Sichuan earthquake villages. Bonnie is now responsible for soliciting resources to support the Agency’s day-to-day operations, as well as for the improvement and development of services.

Ms Wong has 15 years of experience in the field of marketing, project development and event management in non-profit organization, including Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong and Po Leung Kuk. She is experienced in the development and marketing strategies in promotion and coordination of public exhibitions and fundraising campaigns. She currently services at Hong Kong Red Cross, including the development and strategic organization of its annual fundraising campaign Pass-it-On and also other fundraising channels to reach out to public and corporations.

Mr Chan graduated at University of Winnipeg, Canada, with major degree in Sociology, minor in Drama. Having fruitful experience working in management positions of many sizable media companies, such as TVB, ATV, Star TV and Metro Radio etc, he has brought his expertise into NGO sector in recent years. He was the Controller – Corporate Communications and Fundraising of Pok Oi Hospital Board Office for the period of 2005 – 2008 and now a columnist and novelist.

Under Mr Ma’s leadership, the organization is now commented as the most successfully self-finance social enterprise serving more than 66,000 service users in Hong Kong. He leads a team of 220 staff and 1,000 trained volunteers rendering 24-hourly operating supportive and relief service to the thousands of elders and chronic invalids in Hong Kong. With his successful fundraising experience, he is a trainer on Fundraising and SQS and has conducted lots of staff training for the NGOs on topics like Team Building, Creativity and Innovation, Leading Efficient Meeting, Resource Development, Efficient and Effective Supervision Funding Proposal, etc.

Mr Ralph Szeto司徒廣釗先生

Mr Szeto graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University with a Degree in Humanities and Master Degree in Communications. He is one of the founders of CMRS Digital Solutions Limited, which develops and provides various marketing solutions on social media and digital marketing services. The company also serves a number of charitable organisations such as The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong and Heifer Hong Kong. Mr Szeto served the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong as the Vice Chairman of the Interactive and Direct Committee. He is now the Co-president of the Education and Research Committee of the Hong Kong Association of Interactive Marketing. He is also a guest lecturer of several universities and organizations.
