Public Relations in the Virtual World

With the topic of “Public Relations in the Virtual World”, the PR Forum for NGOs 2008 was held on 19 December 2008 with over 200 participants, aiming to explore the PR and Fundraising strategies used in the new media. Co-organized with the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association Limited, we had invited six speakers from corporate and NGOs to share their views and practical strategies on the topic. They were: Mr. Cheung To, General Manager of CR Interactive, Ms. Carol Lau, Associate Director of Weber Shandwick Hong Kong, Dr. John Fung Yat Chu, Director - Information Technology Resource Centre of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Ms. Bonnie So, Head of Communications & Resource Development of Hong Kong Red Cross, Ms. Betty Law, Senior Corporate Communications Manager of Hang Seng Bank and Ms. Brenda Wong, Fundraising Manager – Events of Oxfam Hong Kong. By sharing real cases, participants had a better understanding on the latest PR techniques and strategies on the Internet, making the e-donation and communication more effective.
