Building a Knowledge Sharing Community in the Social Welfare Sector:Application of Knowledge Management in NGOs today

 

The KM Forum for NGOs co-organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the Knowledge Management Research Centre of Hong Kong Polytechnic University was successfully held on 20 November 2007.  It was our honor to have invited Dr. Catherine Lam of the Department of Health, Mr. T. H. Lo of CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd and Professor W. B. Lee of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University representing the government, private and education sectors respectively to speak on the topic: Building a Knowledge Sharing Community in the Social Welfare Sector – Application of Knowledge Management in NGOs today.  Mrs. Justina Leung, the Director of The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong and Ms. Grace Lee, the Education Officer In-charge of The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong gave their insights from the point of view of the NGOs.  The event ended with a clear and insightful note in an Open Forum chaired by Prof. W. B. Lee with all of the speakers: “We are what we learn, and we learn more only if we share more.”
