Objective

To enable managers of social service to acquire the concept and methodology of output costing with a view to achieving better understanding of the cost structure of services and strengthening their capability to:
  1. Cost service outputs
  2. Analyze cost information
  3. Identify areas for improvement, and make business/operational decisions, such as
    • Redesigning services or processes to improve efficiency
    • Changing service mix or delivery mode
    • Improving service cost and performance
    • Formulating service and pricing strategy.

Mr John Ng 吳國輝先生 Managing Director
Tricor Consulting Limited

Mr Ng has extensive experience in organization, financial and human capital management. Previously, he was a director of the consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has developed various management models specific to the social service sector and implemented them in many agencies. The output costing model he developed for the sector has been implemented in around 20 agencies. He has conducted consulting and training projects for over 40 NGOs. He is a Chartered Management Accountant.

Ms Yau (MSW) is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. She leads a team of 800 staff serving over 6,600 service users and carers annually through rendering a range of services spanning from residential, vocational and community mental health services. The Association also operates 19 social enterprises since 1994 including restaurants, convenient stores, healthy living specialty shops, Teresa New Life Coffee Shop etc.
